Tools Required

  • Steel measuring tape.
  • Pencil for marking and writing down your figures.
  • Worksheet for recording all measurements.
  • Ladder, if needed, for tall windows.

Helpful Measuring Tips

  • Do not mix up width and drop when writing down your figures, as this could result in blinds that do not fit.
  • If you are measuring more than one window, check each one separately. Do not assume they are the same size, as small differences may affect the fitting.
  • Always use a steel tape measure, as fabric ones may bend or stretch, which can give inaccurate results.

Outside Recess Measurements

  • Measure the size of the area you would like the blind to cover.
  • To reduce light entering around the edges, we recommend an overlap of at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.
  • The overlap at the bottom is your choice, but remember to take into account obstacles such as radiators.
  • Use a steel tape measure for the most accurate results.

Inside Recess Measurements

  • Take the full width and drop measurements of the window recess (the inside opening).
  • Measure in three different places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurements.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself, as we will do this to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Use a steel tape measure, as fabric ones may give incorrect measurements.

Before you begin fitting, please ensure you have all the items that come with your blind.

Items Included

  • 2 top fix brackets.
  • 2 face fix brackets.
  • 1 set of hangers.
  • 1 Allan key.
  • 2 stabilising chains.
  • 1 safety hook.
  • 4 wood screws.
  • 1 weight.

Extra Tools You May Need

  • Pencil.
  • Screws (if required).
  • Drill with suitable drill bits.
  • Crosshead screwdriver.
  • Steel tape measure.

Face Fix Installation

  • Position the brackets around 5cm from each end of where the headrail will be fitted. If you have more than two brackets, space the extras evenly along the blind.
  • Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are using.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it forward until it is secure. Tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to hold it firmly in place.

Top Fix Installation

  • Allow for obstructions such as handles before fitting and mark the measurements carefully.
  • Position the brackets about 10cm from each end of where the headrail will be fitted, so they clear any handles. If you have extra brackets, space them evenly along the rail.
  • Ensure the fixings are suitable for the ceiling or surface you are mounting onto.
  • Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate it until you hear it click into position.
  • To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket and lift it out.
