Tools you need for measuring Roman blinds:

  • A metal measuring tape
  • A pencil to note your measurements
  • A worksheet or paper to record sizes
  • A ladder for high windows if needed

Tips for accurate measurement:

  • Always keep height and width measurements separate. Mixing them up can result in a blind that does not fit.
  • If you have multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window individually, as small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurement

This is for blinds that sit outside the window frame. Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind overlaps the top by at least 70mm and the sides by 50mm. The bottom overlap depends on your preference, but remember to consider any obstacles like radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and give incorrect measurements.

Inside Recess Measurement

This measurement is for blinds that fit inside the window frame. Measure the full width and height of the recess (the window hole). We will make the necessary deductions for a perfect fit. Measure in three places for both width and height, and record the smallest size. Do not make any adjustments yourself, as we will handle them. Use a metal tape for accuracy.

Face Fix Installation

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from the ends of the headrail. If you have more than two brackets, space the extra brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings suit the wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the brackets and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

  • Measure and mark areas to avoid obstacles like window handles. Place the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail. For extra brackets, space them evenly along the blind’s length. Ensure the fixings match your wall or ceiling surface.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets. Rotate it into position until it clicks. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the indicated point.
