Tools You Will Need to Measure Vertical Blinds:
Tips for Accurate Measurements:
Outside Recess Measurement
Measure the exact area where you want the blind to cover. To reduce light coming through, it is recommended that the blind extends at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap is a personal choice, but consider obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and give inaccurate readings.
Inside Recess Measurement
If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess (essentially the window opening). We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. Measure width and height in three places and use the smallest measurements. Do not make any deductions yourself, as we will handle them to guarantee accuracy. Use a metal tape measure for precise results.
Before you begin, make sure you have the components that come with your vertical blind. You will also need:
Additional Equipment:
Face Fixing Instructions
Position the brackets approximately 5cm from the ends where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extra brackets evenly along the blindβs length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface. Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.
Top Fixing Instructions
Measure and mark the positions, allowing clearance for window handles or other obstacles in the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end. If there are additional brackets, space them evenly along the blind. Ensure the fixings are appropriate for the wall or surface. Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate it into place until it clicks. To remove the headrail, push the bracket at the designated point.
