Tools You Will Need:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil for marking and recording measurements
  • Worksheet to note down measurements
  • Ladder (if needed for high windows)

Tips for Accurate Measuring:

  • Do not mix up height and width measurements, as this can result in a blind that does not fit properly.
  • When measuring more than one window, do not assume they are all the same. Measure each window individually, as even small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To reduce gaps and light leakage, we suggest the blind extends at least 70mm above the window recess and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap can be chosen according to your preference, but consider obstacles such as radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure, as fabric tapes can stretch or bend, giving inaccurate results.

Inside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure if you want the blind to fit inside the window recess. Measure the full width and height of the recess, and the necessary deductions will be made to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Take three measurements for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; they will be applied by the manufacturer.
  • Use a metal tape measure for accurate results.

Items Included with Your Blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1
  • Stabilising chain x2
  • Safety hook x1
  • Wood screws x4
  • Weight x1

Additional Equipment You Will Need:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with appropriate bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Position the brackets approximately 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface being used.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark the position, allowing for obstacles such as window handles that stick into the recess. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end to clear window handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, fit the remaining brackets evenly along the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or ceiling surface.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
