Tools You Will Need:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil to mark and note measurements
  • Worksheet to record your measurements
  • Ladder (if needed for taller windows)

Tips for Accurate Measuring:

  • Avoid mixing up height and width measurements, as this can lead to a blind that does not fit correctly.
  • When measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window individually, as small differences can significantly affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light leakage, it is recommended that the blind overlaps at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap can be chosen according to personal preference, but remember to consider obstacles such as radiators.
  • Use a metal tape measure, as fabric ones can stretch or bend and give inaccurate results.

Inside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the full width and height of the recess if you want the blind to fit inside. The necessary deductions will be made to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; the manufacturer will adjust the blind to fit precisely.
  • Use a metal tape measure for accurate results.

Items Included with Your Blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1
  • Stabilising chain x2
  • Safety hook x1
  • Wood screws x4
  • Weight x1

Additional Equipment You Will Need:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with correct bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space additional brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark the positions, allowing for obstacles such as window handles that stick into the recess. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end to avoid interference with handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, fit the additional ones evenly along the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or ceiling surface.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into position. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
