TOOLS YOU WILL NEED TO MEASURE VERTICAL BLINDS:
TIPS TO HELP YOU MEASURE ACCURATELY:
Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light escaping, allow the blind to overlap the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm at each side.
The overlap at the bottom is your choice, but remember to allow for items like radiators.
Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth ones may bend or stretch, which can give incorrect sizes.
Take this measurement if you want the blind to fit inside the window space. Measure the full width and height of the recess and the makers will allow for adjustments to give a neat fit.
Measure in three places across both the width and the height, and use the smallest measurement.
Do not make any adjustments yourself, as this will be done to ensure the blind sits perfectly.
Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
Before fitting, make sure you have all the parts supplied with your vertical blind.
EXTRA ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:
Place the brackets around 5cm from each end of where the headrail will go. If more than two brackets are included, space the extra ones evenly along the length. Check the wall or surface is strong enough to hold the fixings.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure it by tightening the small screw at the front.
First, mark the correct position, making sure to allow for any window handles or other parts that stick into the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail. If you have more than two brackets, add the extras evenly along the length. Again, check the surface is suitable for fixing.
Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket. Rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove it, press the bracket release.
