Avoid mixing up the height and width when noting your measurements, as this can lead to a blind that does not fit properly. If measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window separately because even small differences can affect the fit.
Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To prevent light from seeping around the edges, the blind should extend at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap is optional, but make sure to consider obstacles such as radiators. Use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and give inaccurate results.
If the blind is to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess (the size of the window opening). We will make the necessary deductions to ensure a perfect fit.
Measure three times for both the width and the drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself, as this will be done to guarantee a precise fit. Use a metal tape measure to avoid stretching and inaccurate readings.
Before starting, ensure you have all items that come with the blind:
For face fixing, position the brackets about 5cm from each end where the headrail will sit. If there are more than two brackets, space the additional ones evenly along the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.
For top fixing, measure and mark the space carefully, leaving room for handles or any obstacles that protrude into the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end to avoid interference with window handles. If there are extra brackets, space them evenly across the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the surface.
Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate until it clicks into place. To release, press the release point on the bracket.
