Tools required for measuring vertical blinds:
Tips for accurate measurements:
Measure the area where you want the blind to overlap. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind extends at least 70mm beyond the top of the window recess and 50mm on each side.
The bottom overlap is optional, but consider any obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch or bend, giving inaccurate readings.
For blinds that fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. We will make the necessary deductions to guarantee a perfect fit.
Take measurements at three points for both the width and the drop, and use the smallest values. Do not make any deductions yourself; we will adjust them for you. Always use a metal tape measure to ensure accuracy.
Before you start, make sure you have all the items supplied with your vertical blind:
Additional equipment needed:
Place the brackets around 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are included, space the extra brackets evenly along the blind. Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface where you are mounting the brackets.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the short screw on the front of the bracket.
Measure and mark the positions carefully to allow for any obstacles, such as window handles that stick out into the recess. Position the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail to avoid handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for your wall or surface.
To install, tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket. Rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove, press the bracket release point.
