Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The bottom overlap is optional, but take care to consider obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth ones can stretch and give inaccurate results.
If you want the blind to sit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. The manufacturer will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
Take measurements in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make your own deductions. Always use a metal tape measure to avoid inaccuracies.
Before beginning, make sure you have all the parts supplied with your vertical blind.
Position the brackets approximately 5cm from the ends where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the others evenly along the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are mounting to.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the short screw at the front.
Mark the measurements carefully, allowing space for obstacles such as window handles. Position the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail. If there are more than two brackets, space the additional ones evenly along the length. Ensure fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
