TOOLS REQUIRED:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil to mark and note your measurements
  • Worksheet to record your findings
  • Ladder, if measuring high windows

TIPS FOR ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Keep height and width measurements separate. Mixing them up can cause the blind to be the wrong size.
  • Measure each window individually. Even similar-looking windows may have slight differences that affect the fit.

Outside Recess

Measure the area where you want the blind to overlap. To reduce light gaps, the blind should extend at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.

The bottom overlap is optional, but consider obstacles such as radiators.

Use a metal tape measure for accuracy. Cloth tapes may stretch and give incorrect results.

Inside Recess

If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.

Measure in three places for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement.

Do not make deductions yourself; they will be made to guarantee the blind fits correctly.

Use a metal tape measure to avoid inaccurate results.

Before you begin, check that all supplied parts are available.

EXTRA TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 hanger
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook

  • Screws
  • Drill with the correct bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix

Position the brackets about 5cm from the ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are included, space any additional brackets evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.

Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and tighten the short screw at the front to secure it.

Top Fix

Measure and mark positions for the brackets, allowing space for handles or other obstacles. Place the brackets roughly 10cm from each end of the headrail. Space any additional brackets evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.

Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets, rotate until it clicks into position. To release it later, press the release point on the bracket.
