TOOLS REQUIRED:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil to mark and note your measurements
  • Worksheet to record your findings
  • Ladder for taller windows

TIPS FOR ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Keep height and width measurements separate. Mixing them up can result in a blind that does not fit.
  • Measure each window individually. Even similar-looking windows may vary slightly, which can affect the fit.

Outside Recess

Measure the exact area where you want the blind to overlap. To reduce light gaps, allow at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.

The bottom overlap is optional, but take care to avoid obstacles such as radiators.

Use a metal tape measure for accurate results. Cloth tapes can stretch or bend and may give incorrect measurements.

Inside Recess

If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.

Take three measurements for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement.

Do not make deductions yourself; this will be done to ensure the blind fits perfectly.

Use a metal tape measure to prevent inaccurate results.

Before starting, check that all supplied parts are available.

EXTRA TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 hanger
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight

  • Screws
  • Drill with the correct bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix

Position the brackets about 5cm from the ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space additional brackets evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings suit the wall or surface.

Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and tighten the short screw at the front to secure it.

Top Fix

Measure and mark positions for the brackets, allowing space for handles or other obstacles. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end of the headrail. Space additional brackets evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.

Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets, rotate until it clicks into place. To release, press the release point on the bracket.
