Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce gaps and light leakage, it is recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The bottom overlap is optional, but make sure to allow space for obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth ones can stretch and give inaccurate measurements.
If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. The manufacturer will make the necessary adjustments for a perfect fit.
Take measurements in three places for both the width and the drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself. Always use a metal tape measure to ensure accuracy.
Before installation, make sure you have all the parts supplied with your vertical blind.
Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are provided, space the remaining ones evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are using.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.
Measure carefully and mark the spots to allow room for obstacles such as window handles. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail. If additional brackets are supplied, space them evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate until it clicks into place. To remove it, press the bracket at the release point.
