Tools you will need for measuring vertical blinds:
Tips for accurate measurement:
Measure the exact area where the blind should overlap. To reduce gaps and light leakage, we suggest that the blind extends at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.
The overlap at the bottom is optional but remember obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure; cloth tapes can stretch or bend, giving inaccurate results.
For blinds that fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. We will make the necessary deductions to ensure a perfect fit.
Take measurements in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement. Do not make deductions yourself. Always use a metal tape measure to avoid errors.
Before installation, make sure you have the following items supplied with your vertical blind:
Additional equipment needed:
Position the brackets approximately 5cm from each end of the headrail. If there are more than two brackets, space the extra brackets evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for your wall or mounting surface.
Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front.
Measure and mark positions carefully, leaving space for obstacles such as window handles. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail to avoid interference. If there are extra brackets, space them evenly along the blind. Make sure fixings are suitable for the surface.
Tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket, then rotate it until it clicks. To release, press the bracket at the designated point.
