Cool, Calm, and Contemporary – Izmir Glacier Roman Blind

Give your room a fresh and elegant look with the Izmir Glacier Roman Blind, now available across the UK from Blinds Artist. Inspired by natural colours and minimalist design, this blind features a calm glacier-grey shade with a soft, textured weave. It is ideal for creating a clean and peaceful atmosphere in any space.

The gentle grey tone is very adaptable. It works well in modern interiors, Scandinavian-style dΓ©cor, or as a neutral backdrop in busy rooms. Its lightly textured fabric adds depth and interest without overwhelming your overall design. Fully lined for better thermal performance, the Izmir Glacier blind helps keep your home comfortable all year while giving privacy and controlling the light.

The elegant Roman fold gives the blind structure and style whether it is raised or fully lowered. Each blind is made to measure for a precise fit. It comes with a smooth, easy-to-use headrail for everyday convenience. Installation is straightforward, with all necessary fittings and instructions included.

Tools You Will Need

  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil to mark and record measurements
  • A worksheet to write down your findings
  • A ladder if your windows are tall

Tips for Accurate Measurement

  • Do not confuse height and width when recording measurements. Swapping them may result in a blind that does not fit properly.
  • If measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are identical. Measure each window separately. Even small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurement

If you want your blind to sit outside the window recess:

  • Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover.
  • To reduce light coming through the edges, it is recommended to have the blind extend at least 70mm above the window and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap is optional, but consider obstacles like radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure. Cloth tapes can stretch and give incorrect results.

Inside Recess Measurement

If the blind will fit inside the recess:

  • Measure the full width and height of the recess. This is the β€œhole” size, and we will make the necessary deductions for a perfect fit.
  • Measure in three different places for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; we will do this to ensure the blind fits accurately.
  • Use a metal tape measure for precision.

Extra Tools You Will Need

  • Pencil

  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from each end where the headrail will sit.
  • If more than two brackets are supplied, place the extra brackets evenly along the length of the blind.
  • Ensure your fixings are suitable for the surface you are attaching them to.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it into position. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

  • Measure and mark areas to avoid obstacles like window handles.
  • Place the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail. This ensures clearance from window handles.
  • If there are more than two brackets, fit the extras evenly along the blind.
  • Make sure the fixings suit the wall or ceiling surface.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the marked point.
