Tools You Will Need:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil to mark and record measurements
  • Worksheet for noting results
  • Ladder if measuring tall windows

Tips for Accurate Measurements:

  • Do not confuse height and width when writing your measurements. Swapping them may cause the blind not to fit correctly.
  • If measuring multiple windows, do not assume they are identical. Measure each window individually, as even small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurement:

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, we suggest the blind extends at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.
  • The bottom overlap is optional, but consider obstacles such as radiators.
  • Use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and provide inaccurate results.

Inside Recess Measurement:

  • Measure the full width and height of the window recess. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest measurement for accuracy.
  • Do not make deductions yourself; we will adjust for a precise fit.
  • Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can give incorrect readings.

Items Supplied with Your Blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1
  • Stabilising chains x2
  • Safety hook x1

Additional Tools Needed:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with suitable bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Position the brackets around 5cm from each end of the headrail. If more than two brackets are provided, space any extra brackets evenly along the length of the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the brackets and rotate it into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw on the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark areas to avoid obstacles, such as window handles. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end of the headrail. If extra brackets are supplied, fit them evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or ceiling.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets until it clicks into position. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the hook point.
