Measuring for Inside Window Recess

If you plan to fit the blind inside a window recess, you must measure the full width and height of the recessed area, from wall to wall.

Steps for Inside Recess Measurement

Take three width measurements across the inside of the window recess: one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. Then take three height measurements: one on the left, one in the centre, and one on the right.

Guide for Fitting Inside Recess Blinds

Use a steel tape measure to get accurate measurements in centimetres, to the nearest millimetre. Measure width and height in three places and use the smallest measurement when ordering. The factory will adjust the blind if needed for “recess specified” blinds so that it fits perfectly. Be careful when measuring near obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails, to make sure the blind is positioned correctly.

Measuring for Outside Window Recess

If you are fitting the blind outside the window recess, it will be made exactly to the measurements you provide, with no deductions.

Guide for Fitting Outside Recess Blinds

Decide the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight glare, we suggest adding an overlap of 6 cm on each side and 7 cm at the top of the window. Measure the full width of this area carefully. Take care around any obstacles like tiles or rails to ensure the blind sits correctly. You can also decide if you want an overlap at the bottom of the window.

The blinds come with all the fittings you need for installation. For inside recess fitting, the blind sits neatly within the window frame. For outside recess fitting, the blind is fixed on the wall or frame covering the window. Always double-check your measurements before installing and follow the instructions to ensure the blind is secure and fits perfectly.
