Fitting Inside the Window Recess

To fit your blind inside the recess, measure the full width and height of the recessed area from wall to wall.

  • Take three width measurements across the top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
  • Take three drop measurements from the left, centre, and right.
  • Use a steel tape measure to record accurate sizes in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Always use the smallest measurement for ordering.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for blinds specified to fit inside the recess, ensuring a proper fit.
  • Take care around obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails to make sure your measurement is correct.

Fitting Outside the Window Recess

For outside fitting, the blind will be produced to your exact measurements with no deductions made.

  • Measure the full width of the area you would like the blind to cover.
  • To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top of the window.
  • Be aware of obstructions such as tiles or rails when measuring to ensure accuracy.
  • Overlap at the bottom is optional and depends on your preference.

Please choose one of the following options:

  • Top Mount: Mounted to an overhead surface such as the top of the recess or the ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Mounted to the face of the wall outside the window frame.

Position the brackets so the blind can move freely without touching window handles or other obstructions. Loosely place the brackets on the blind and hold them in the window space to check their placement. This will help you centre the blind and see where the brackets should go.

Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the position of the first bracket, ensuring it is level and not tilted, as this could affect how the blind operates. Drill the holes and fix the bracket into place, using raw plugs if fitting into a wall.

Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Then place the other bracket at the opposite end of the blind and mark its position. Ensure this second bracket is level with the first before drilling and fixing it securely.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The pin has a spring mechanism that allows you to mount and remove the blind easily. Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug on the control side should face downwards and slot into the cross-section of the bracket, locking it into place.

Operating the Blind

Once installed, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind smoothly.

P-Clip Installation

The safety device must be fixed as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent the loop chain from becoming loose.

  • Make sure the chain passes through the P-clip.
  • The chain must remain tight, with the P-clip positioned at the bottom of the loop.
  • Screw the tensioning device into the wall in line with the blind so the chain stays permanently tight and under constant tension.
