Fitting Inside the Window Recess:

Measure the full width and height of the recessed area, from wall to wall.

Inside Recess Measuring Guide:

  • Take three width measurements, across the top, middle, and bottom of the window.
  • Take three height measurements, from the left, right, and centre.
  • Always use a steel tape measure for accuracy, measuring in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Record three measurements for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement when ordering.
  • The factory will make any deductions needed for recess blinds to ensure they fit correctly.
  • Be cautious when measuring around obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to guarantee accuracy.

Fitting Outside the Window Recess:

If you choose to fit your blind outside the recess, it will be made to the exact measurements you provide, with no deductions.

Outside Recess Measuring Guide:

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To prevent sunlight from coming through, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top.
  • Carefully measure the full width of the area.
  • Watch out for obstacles such as tiles or rails when measuring, to ensure proper positioning.
  • You may also decide to overlap the blind at the bottom of the window if you wish.

Please choose from the following fitting methods:

Top Mount: Fixing the blind to an overhead surface, such as the ceiling or the top of the window recess.

Face Mount: Fixing the blind to the front of the window frame.

When fitting, position the brackets so the blind can move freely without touching door handles or other parts of the window. Place both brackets loosely on the blind and position it in the window space to check alignment before fixing permanently. This will help with centring the blind correctly.

Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the position of the first bracket, ensuring it is level and straight. Drill holes and secure the bracket with screws, using raw plugs if attaching to a wall.

Insert one side of the blind into the mounted bracket. Then place the other bracket on the opposite end of the blind, mark its position, and make sure it lines up level with the first. Drill holes and fix the second bracket into place with raw plugs if needed.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin bracket. The pin end is spring-loaded, which makes mounting and removing the blind easier. Next, place the control mechanism into the control side bracket. The central lug on the control mechanism should point downwards and lock securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

After installation, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind as required.

P-Clip Safety Device:

  • Install the P-clip as far away from the control mechanism as possible to prevent slack in the looped chain.
  • Ensure the chain runs through the P-clip and remains tight, with the clip fixed at the bottom of the loop. This ensures the chain can move smoothly.
  • Secure the tensioning device to the wall in line with the blind to keep the chain permanently tight and under constant tension.
