Roller only measurement
To fit your blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recessed space from wall to wall.
Inside recess measurement
Measure three times across the width of the window recess: at the top, middle, and bottom. Then measure three times down: on the left side, the right side, and in the centre.
Guide for inside recess fitting
Use a strong metal tape measure to get accurate sizes in centimetres, to the nearest millimetre. You must measure in three key places (width and height) and use the smallest size for ordering. The factory will make any reductions if needed so the blind fits correctly. Be careful of any obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails, making sure the measuring point is correct.
Outside recess fitting
If you are fitting the blind outside the recess, it will be made exactly to the sizes you provide, with no deductions.
Guide for outside recess fitting
Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To block sunlight effectively, we suggest adding an overlap of 6 cm on each side and 7 cm above the window. You can also decide if you would like an overlap at the bottom. Be careful to avoid obstructions such as tiles or rails, ensuring your chosen position is accurate.
You can choose one of two fitting options:
Top mount β This means fixing the blind to an overhead surface such as the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
Face mount β This means fixing the blind to the face of the window frame, on the outside.
Make sure you position the brackets so the blind can move freely without hitting window handles or doors. Place both brackets loosely on the blind and position it where it will be fitted. This will help you see where the brackets should go and makes it easier to centre the blind.
Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the spot for the first bracket, checking that it is straight and not tilted, as this would affect how the blind works. Drill the holes and fix the bracket into place, using wall plugs if fitting to brick or plaster.
Insert one side of the blind into the mounted bracket. Then place the other bracket at the opposite end and mark its position, ensuring it is level with the first one. Drill the holes and fix it into place, again using wall plugs if required.
Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. This end is spring-loaded to make fitting and removing easier. Next, insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The centre lug of the control mechanism must point downwards and lock into the bracketβs slot.
Once fitted, simply use the side chain to raise or lower the blind.
The safety device must be installed as far as possible from the control mechanism to stop the chain from becoming loose.
Make sure the chain runs through the P-clip and is held tight. The P-clip should sit at the bottom of the loop so the chains can move smoothly. Screw the device securely to the wall so the chain remains firmly in place and under tension at all times.
