Roller Only Measurement

To fit the blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess (wall to wall).

Inside Recess Measurement

Take three width measurements across the top, middle, and bottom of the recess. Then take three height measurements – left, centre, and right.

Guide for Inside Recess Fitting

  • Always use a steel tape measure for accuracy, measuring in centimetres down to the nearest millimetre.
  • Record measurements in three places for both width and height. Always use the smallest figure when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any required deductions to ensure a perfect recess fit.
  • Be careful of possible obstructions such as handles, tiles, or rails, and measure accordingly.

Outside Recess Measurement

For blinds fitted outside the recess, they will be made exactly to the sizes you provide without any deductions.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

  • Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight entering, it is recommended to add an overlap of around 6 cm on each side and 7 cm above the window.
  • Always check for obstructions like tiles or rails when measuring.
  • You may choose whether or not the blind should overlap the bottom of the window.

You can choose either:

  • Top mount: Fixed to an overhead surface, such as the ceiling or the top of the recess.
  • Face mount: Fixed to the wall or window frame on the outside.

Make sure the brackets are positioned so the blind operates freely, without touching handles, frames, or nearby objects. Place both brackets loosely on the blind first, position it where it will be fitted, and check that it sits in the centre.

Fit the bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism first. Mark its position carefully, ensuring it is straight and level, then drill holes and fix it in place. Use raw plugs if fitting to a wall. Insert one end of the blind into this bracket. Next, mark and fit the second bracket, making sure it lines up evenly with the first. Drill and fix into place.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin bracket. This side contains a spring mechanism that makes it easier to attach or remove the blind. Place the control end into the control bracket, ensuring the lug points downward and locks securely into the cross slot.

Operating the Blind

Once installed, simply use the side chain to raise or lower the blind as needed.

P-Clip Safety Device

The safety device must be fitted as far as possible from the control unit to prevent the looped chain from becoming loose.

  • Ensure the control chain passes through the P-clip.
  • The chain should remain tight, with the clip positioned at the lowest point of the loop.
  • Screw the safety device securely to the wall, keeping the chain under constant tension so it moves smoothly but stays firmly in place.
