Roller Only Measurement

To fit the blind inside a window recess, you will need to measure the full width and height of the recess, from wall to wall.

Inside Recess Measurement

  • Take three width measurements across the top, middle, and bottom of the recess.
  • Take three height measurements down the left side, centre, and right side of the window.

Guide for Inside Recess Fitting

  • Use a steel tape measure to record accurate measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Take measurements in three places for both width and height, and use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess-specified blinds to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Be careful of obstructions such as tiles, window handles, or rails to ensure measurements are correct.

Outside Recess Measurement

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, they will be made to your exact measurements without any deductions.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

  • Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight entering, it is recommended to overlap by approximately 6 cm on each side and 7 cm above the window.
  • Be cautious of any obstructions, including tiles or window rails, when measuring.
  • You may choose whether to have the blind overlap at the bottom of the window.

Please select one of the following mounting methods:

  • Top Mount: The blind is mounted to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or the ceiling.
  • Face Mount: The blind is mounted to the front of the window frame on the outside.

To ensure the blind operates freely, position the brackets carefully so it does not touch handles, window frames, or other objects. Loosely place both brackets on the blind and position it in the window to check its placement and centre alignment.

Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the bracket position carefully, ensuring it is level and not twisted, as this could prevent the blind from operating correctly. Drill holes and secure the bracket using raw plugs if attaching to a wall. Insert one end of the blind into this bracket. Position the second bracket on the opposite end, mark its location, ensure it is level with the first bracket, drill holes, and secure it in place.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The spring mechanism on this side allows for easy mounting and removal of the blind. Place the control end into the control-side bracket. Ensure the central lug points downward and slots securely into the cross-section of the bracket.

Operating the Blind

Once installed, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind smoothly.

P-Clip Safety Device

The safety device must be fitted as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent the looped chain from becoming slack.

  • Ensure the chain passes through the P-clip.
  • Keep the chain tight, with the P-clip positioned at the bottom of the loop.
  • Secure the tensioning device to the wall in line with the blind so that the chain remains under constant tension and operates smoothly.
