Roller Blinds Only

To fit a blind inside the window recess, you will need to measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.

Inside Recess Measurements

  • Take three width measurements across the window recess: top, middle, and bottom.
  • Take three height measurements: left, right, and centre.

Guide for Inside Recess Fitting

  • Use a steel tape measure and record measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Measure both width and height in three places, then use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess-specified blinds to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Be careful when measuring to avoid obstructions such as tiles, handles, or rails, ensuring the measurements are accurate.

Outside Recess Fitting

If fitting outside the window recess, the blind will be made exactly to the measurements you specify, with no deductions.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

  • Decide the area you want the blind to cover. To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm above the window.
  • Measure the width of this area accurately.
  • Be careful when measuring to avoid obstructions like tiles, rails, or handles.
  • You may choose whether to overlap at the bottom of the window.

Please select the mounting style:

Top Mount: Attach to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or the ceiling.

Face Mount: Attach to the outer face of the window frame.

  • Position the brackets so the blind can move freely without touching handles or the window.
  • Loosely position both brackets on the blind and place it in the window to check alignment. This helps centre the blind accurately.

Installing the Brackets and Blind

  1. Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the position carefully, making sure it is level and not twisted.
  2. Drill holes and secure the bracket with wall plugs if needed.
  3. Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket.
  4. Position the second bracket at the opposite end, mark it so it is level with the first, drill, and fix it securely.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin bracket. The pin end has a spring mechanism to make mounting and removal easier.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. Make sure the central lug points downward and hooks securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Once installed, use the side chain to raise and lower the blind.

P-Clip Safety Device

  • Install the p-clip as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent slack in the chain.
  • Ensure the chain passes through the p-clip and remains tight.
  • Position the p-clip at the bottom of the chain loop so it moves correctly.
  • Screw the tensioning device to the wall at the end of the blind to keep the chain permanently tight and under constant tension.
