For a recess fitting (roller only measure):

To fit the blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recessed space (wall to wall).

Inside recess measurements:

Take three measurements across the width of the recess – at the top, middle, and bottom.

Then, take three measurements for the drop – on the left, right, and centre.

Guide for inside recess fitting:

  • Always use a steel tape measure to get precise readings in centimetres, measuring to the nearest millimetre.
  • Measure in all three positions (width and height) and use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make the required deductions for recess fittings to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Be careful when measuring around any obstructions such as handles, tiles, or rails to make sure your measurements are accurate.

For an outside recess fitting:

If the blind is to be fitted outside the window recess, it will be made exactly to the sizes you provide with no deductions.

Guide for outside recess fitting:

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of 6 cm on each side and 7 cm above the window.
  • Take the exact width of the chosen area.
  • Watch out for any obstructions such as tiles or rails when measuring, to ensure the blind can be fitted properly.
  • At the bottom, it is your choice whether or not to allow extra overlap.

Please decide which type of fitting you prefer:

Top mount: Fixed to an overhead surface such as the top of the window recess or the ceiling.

Face mount: Fixed to the face of the wall or outside the window frame.

Position the brackets so the blind can move freely without touching window handles, doors, or frames. Hold both brackets loosely in position with the blind, place it where it will be fitted, and check that it is centred before marking the placement.

Fit the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark its position carefully, ensuring it is straight and level to avoid problems with operation. Drill holes and secure the bracket with screws, using wall plugs if fixing to a solid wall.

Next, insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Place the second bracket on the other end, mark its position, and ensure it lines up with the first bracket. Drill and secure this bracket in the same way.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin side of the blind into the corresponding bracket. The pin has a spring action that helps with both fitting and removal. Insert the control side mechanism into the other bracket, ensuring the lug on the mechanism points downwards and locks into the bracket securely.

Operating the Blind

Once fitted, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind smoothly.

P-Clip Safety Device

The P-clip must be fitted as far away from the control mechanism as possible. This prevents the chain loop from becoming loose.

Make sure the chain passes through the P-clip and is held firmly at the bottom of the loop. Check that the chain can still move freely. Screw the device securely to the wall, ensuring the chain remains tight and under constant tension. This keeps the chain safe and reduces the risk of accidents.
