Roller Only Measurement (Inside Recess)

To fit your blind inside the window recess, measure the complete width and height of the recessed space from wall to wall.

Inside Recess Measurement Guide

Measure across the width of the recess in three places: at the top, in the middle, and at the bottom of the window.

Measure the height in three places: on the left, in the centre, and on the right.

Important Notes for Inside Recess Fitting

Use a strong steel tape measure for accuracy, and record measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.

Always use the smallest measurement for both width and height when placing your order.

The factory will make the necessary reductions for blinds ordered as β€œrecess specified” so that they fit neatly in place.

Take care when measuring around possible obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure that your blind can be fitted correctly.

Outside Recess Measurement

For blinds fitted outside the recess, the blind will be manufactured exactly to the sizes you specify, with no deductions made.

Guide for Outside Recess Fitting

Measure the width of the area that you want the blind to cover. To block out more sunlight, we recommend allowing for an overlap of about 6 cm on either side and around 7 cm above the window.

Be mindful of any possible obstructions such as tiles or rails when taking measurements to ensure accuracy.

It is your decision if you wish the blind to extend below the window frame.

Please select the style you prefer:

Top Mount / Face Mount

  • Top mount: Fixing the brackets to an overhead surface, such as the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
  • Face mount: Fixing the brackets directly onto the wall or the outside face of the window frame.

Ensure the brackets are positioned so the blind can move freely and does not touch handles, doors, or the window itself. Place both brackets loosely on the blind and hold it in position within the window space. This will help you determine the correct position for the brackets and allow you to centre the blind properly.

Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain control. Mark the position of this bracket carefully, making sure it is straight and level. If it is uneven, the blind will not operate correctly. Drill holes and secure the bracket firmly, using wall plugs if fixing into masonry.

Insert one end of the blind into the first bracket. Then position the second bracket at the opposite end, ensuring it aligns with the first. Mark the spot, drill holes, and fix the bracket in place, again using wall plugs where necessary.

Mounting the Blind

Place the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. This side has a spring mechanism that allows for easier fitting and removal. Insert the control mechanism into the opposite bracket. Make sure the central lug of the control mechanism is facing downwards and locks into the slot in the bracket to hold it securely.

Operating the Blind

Once the blind is installed, use the side chain to raise or lower it smoothly.

Installing the P-Clip

The safety clip must be fitted as far away from the control mechanism as possible to stop the looped chain from hanging loosely.

Make sure the chain passes through the P-clip so that it remains tight. Position the clip at the bottom of the chain loop, ensuring the chain can still move freely. Fix the tensioning device securely to the wall, aligned with the blind, so that the chain stays under constant tension and cannot become slack.
