Tools you will need:

  • Steel tape measure
  • Pencil to mark and write measurements
  • Worksheet to record your results
  • Ladder if your windows are tall

Tips for accurate measurements:

  • Do not confuse width and height when recording measurements. Mixing them up may result in a blind that does not fit.
  • If you are measuring more than one window, do not assume they are the same size. Measure each window separately, as even small differences can affect how the blinds fit.

Outside Recess Measurement

Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light leakage, we recommend that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70 mm at the top and 50 mm on each side. The overlap at the bottom is optional, but remember to consider obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch or bend and give inaccurate readings.

Inside Recess Measurement

If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. The factory will make the necessary deductions to ensure a perfect fit. Take three measurements for both width and drop and use the smallest measurements. Do not make any deductions yourself, as we will adjust the blind for a precise fit. Use a metal tape measure, as cloth ones can stretch and lead to errors.

Face Fix Installation

Position the brackets approximately 5 cm from the ends where the headrail will be placed. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional ones evenly along the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are attaching them to.

Hook the back of the headrail into the brackets and rotate it into position. Secure the headrail by tightening the short screw at the front of each bracket.

Top Fix Installation

Measure carefully and mark areas to allow for obstacles such as window handles that may protrude into the recess. Position the brackets around 10 cm from the ends of the headrail to avoid any interference with handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional ones evenly across the length of the blind. Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface.

Tilt the headrail and hook it into the brackets. Rotate the headrail until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the indicated point.
