Roller Blinds – Inside Recess Fit

If you want your blind to sit inside the window recess:

  • Measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.
  • Take three width measurements (top, middle, and bottom).
  • Take three height measurements (left, centre, and right).
  • Use a steel measuring tape for accuracy, noting centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Always use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make small deductions if required to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Watch out for any obstacles such as tiles, window handles, or rails when taking measurements.

Roller Blinds – Outside Recess Fit

If you prefer your blind to cover an area outside the window recess:

  • Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover.
  • To block out light, allow an overlap of around 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top.
  • An overlap at the bottom is optional.
  • Be careful of obstacles such as rails or tiles when deciding the blind’s position.
  • We will make the blind to your exact measurements with no deductions.

Please choose one of the following fitting methods:

  • Top mount: Brackets fixed to the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
  • Face mount: Brackets fixed to the front of the window frame.

Make sure brackets are positioned so that the blind moves freely without catching on handles or windows. Place both brackets loosely onto the blind and hold it in place to check alignment before fixing.

  • Position the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the location, making sure it is level and straight. Drill the holes and fix the bracket securely with rawl plugs if needed.
  • Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Place the second bracket at the other end, mark the position, check it is level with the first, and then fix it into place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin side bracket. The spring-loaded pin allows easy fitting and removal.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and lock into the cross-section of the bracket.

Operating the Blind

Once fitted, simply use the chain or the remote control to raise and lower the blind.

P-Clip Safety Device

  • Install the P-clip as far away as possible from the control mechanism to prevent the chain loop from becoming loose.
  • Ensure the chain runs through the P-clip, keeping it tight with the clip at the bottom of the loop.
  • Screw the safety device to the wall along the length of the blind so that the chain stays under tension at all times.
