Roller Only – Inside Recess

To fit the blind inside the window recess, you will need to measure the full width and height of the recessed area (wall to wall).

  • Take three width measurements across the recess, at the top, middle, and bottom.
  • Take three drop measurements, one each on the left, right, and centre.
  • Always use a steel tape measure for accuracy, measuring in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • For ordering, use the smallest of the measurements recorded.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for blinds specified as “recess fitting” to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Be careful of obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails when measuring to make sure the blind is positioned correctly.

Roller Only – Outside Recess

To fit the blind outside the recess, we will produce it exactly to the measurements you supply, without any deductions.

  • To block out sunlight effectively, we recommend that the blind overlaps by around 6cm on either side and 7cm at the top of the window.
  • You will need to measure the full width of the area you want covered.
  • Again, take care with any possible obstructions such as tiles or rails to ensure the position is correct.
  • Overlap at the bottom is optional, depending on your preference.

Please choose whether you prefer a top mount or face mount fitting.

  • Top mount: Fixed to an overhead surface such as the ceiling or the top of the window recess.
  • Face mount: Fixed to the surface outside the window frame.

Position the brackets so that the blind can move freely, making sure it does not clash with handles or the window itself. Hold the brackets loosely in position on the blind and place it where it will be fitted. This will help you centre the blind and mark where the brackets should go.

Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the operating mechanism. Mark the spot for the first bracket, ensuring it is straight and level. Drill the holes and fix the bracket securely, using wall plugs if required. Insert one end of the blind into the bracket. Then mark the spot for the second bracket, making sure it lines up evenly with the first. Drill and fix the second bracket into place.

Mounting the Blind

Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin bracket. This end is spring-loaded to make mounting and unmounting easier. Next, place the control end of the blind into the control-side bracket. The small lug on the control mechanism should be pointing downwards and slot neatly into the bracket, locking it into place.

Operating the Blind

Once fitted, you can use the chain at the side to raise or lower the blind smoothly.

P-Clip Safety Device

The P-clip safety device must be positioned as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent the chain from hanging loosely.

  • Place the control chain through the P-clip.
  • Ensure the chain is pulled tight with the P-clip at the bottom of the loop.
  • Fix the tensioning device securely to the wall, keeping the chain firmly in place and under constant tension.
  • This ensures the chain remains secure and operates safely at all times.
