A slat-only measurement means the size of the blind fabric itself when placed flat. The usual width of a slat is 89mm, which is the standard size supplied for most fabrics.

When placing an order, check that the fabric selected is the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre and then deduct 1cm from both height and width. Do not make any deductions yourself.

If No Slats Are Available

  1. Measure the space at your window.
  2. Measure from the track opening down to where you want the slat to finish.
  3. The slat should end about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a windowsill or radiator.

Count and Order the Number of Slats

  • Count the slats already fitted or the number of carriers (trucks) on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number needed when ordering.

Please check that you have all the items supplied with your vertical blind.

Extra items you will need during fitting:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with correct bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Method

Place the brackets around 5cm from each end of where the headrail is to be fitted. If more than two brackets are provided, space the extras evenly across the full length of the blind. Ensure that the fixings used are suitable for the surface.

To attach, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate into place. Secure the headrail by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Method

Mark the position carefully, allowing enough space for any window handles or other parts that stick into the recess. Fit the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail so that they clear the window handle. If more than two brackets are supplied, fix the rest evenly along the length of the blind. Always check the fixings are suitable for the mounting surface.

Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate until it clicks into position. To release, push the bracket where marked.
