When taking a slat-only measurement, the length refers only to the vertical blind fabric laid flat. The most common slat width is 89mm, which is also the size offered for most fabric options.

When placing an order, always check that the fabric width you choose is correct. Measurements should be taken to the nearest centimetre. Then subtract 1cm from both the height and width. Do not make any additional deductions.

If no slats are available, follow these steps:

  1. Measure the required size of your window.
  2. Take the measurement from the headrail track opening down to the point where you would like the slat to finish.
  3. The bottom of the slat should end around 13mm above any obstruction, such as a radiator or windowsill.

Counting and Ordering Slats:

  • Count your existing slats or the number of carriers on the headrail.
  • Enter the total quantity you need when ordering.

Before you start fitting your vertical blind, make sure you have the following items included:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • Screws
  • A pencil
  • A drill with the correct drill bits
  • A cross-head screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix Fitting

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from both ends of the headrail position.
  • If you are supplied with more than two brackets, space the extras evenly along the length of the blind.
  • Check that the fixings are suitable for the type of wall or surface you are using.
  • To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and then secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Fitting

  • Mark and measure carefully to leave enough clearance for any obstructions, such as window handles, that project into the recess.
  • Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of where the headrail will sit to make sure it clears the window handle.
  • If more than two brackets are supplied, space the additional brackets evenly across the length of the blind.
  • Ensure all fixings are suitable for the surface you are mounting them on.
  • To install, tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket at the marked point, then rotate it into place until it clicks securely.
  • To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
