A slat-only measurement includes the length of the vertical blind fabric when laid flat. The width of each slat is usually 89mm, which is the most common size and the size we provide in most fabrics.

When placing an order, make sure the fabric you choose is the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre and deduct 1cm from both the height and width. Do not make any other deductions.

If No Slat Is Available:

  • Measure the size required directly at your window.
  • Measure from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  • The slat should end around 13mm above any obstruction, such as a sill or radiator.

Counting and Calculating the Number of Slats Required

  • Count your existing slats or the number of trucks on the headrail.
  • Enter the total number required when placing your order.

Please ensure you have all the following items included with your vertical blind before fitting:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with the correct drill bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix

Position the brackets about 5cm from each end where the headrail will be fitted. If more than two brackets are provided, place the extras evenly across the length of the blind. Check that the fixings are suitable for the type of wall or surface.

Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

When top fixing, measure and mark carefully to allow for obstructions such as window handles. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail to make sure they clear the window handle. Fit any additional brackets at equal spacing along the blind. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the surface.

Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket at the marked point. Rotate until it clicks firmly into place. To release the headrail, press the bracket at the release point.
