When measuring for slats only, the given size will represent the fabric length laid flat. The most common slat width is 89mm, which is the standard size used for most fabrics we provide.
When ordering, make sure your chosen fabric is the right width. Take measurements to the nearest centimetre, then subtract 1cm from both the height and the width. Do not make any further deductions yourself.
If Slats Are Not Already Available, Follow These Steps:
Counting and Working Out the Number of Slats Required:
Check that you have all of the following items provided with your vertical blind before starting:
Face Fix
Place the brackets about 5cm in from each end of the headrail position. If more than two brackets are included, space the extras evenly along the length of the blind. Always ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface where they will be attached.
To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it locks in place. Tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to secure it firmly.
Top Fix
Mark and measure carefully, allowing space for obstructions such as handles that extend into the recess. Place the brackets roughly 10cm in from the ends of the headrail, which ensures clearance for the window handle. If more than two brackets are provided, space the extras evenly across the full length of the blind. Always check that fixings are right for the surface where you are fitting them.
Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate until it clicks securely into position. To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket and gently pull the rail free.
