Slat Only Measurement

This means the length of the fabric when laid flat. The slat width is usually 89mm, which is the most common size and is offered with most of our fabrics.

When ordering, check that the fabric width is correct. Always measure to the nearest centimetre and subtract 1cm from both the height and width. Do not make any other deductions.

If Slats Are Not Available – Follow These Steps:

  • Measure the size you need at your window.
  • Measure from the top track opening down to where you want the slat to end.
  • Leave about 13mm above any obstructions such as a radiator or window sill.

Counting and Ordering Slats

  • Count the existing slats or the number of trucks on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number of slats you need when placing your order.

Before starting, check that you have the following parts supplied with your vertical blind:

Extra Equipment You Will Need:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • Weights as needed
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with the correct drill bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix

Place the brackets about 5cm from each end of where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are provided, spread the extra brackets evenly across the length of the blind. Make sure the fixings you use are suitable for the wall or surface.

To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it forward, then secure it by tightening the small screw in the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

Mark the bracket positions carefully, leaving room for any obstacles such as window handles that stick into the recess. Position the brackets around 10cm from each end of the headrail so they clear the handles. Any extra brackets supplied should be spaced evenly across the blind. Always use fixings suitable for the wall or ceiling.

To fit, tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks. To remove, press the release section on the bracket.
