Inside Recess Fit

To fit a blind inside a window recess, you need to measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.

  1. Measure three points across the inside of the window recess – top, middle, and bottom.
  2. Measure three points vertically – left, centre, and right.
  3. Use a steel tape measure and note measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  4. Use the smallest measurement when ordering to ensure the blind fits perfectly.
  5. The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess-specified blinds.
  6. Take care when measuring around obstacles such as tiles, handles, and rails to ensure accurate positioning.

Outside Recess Fit

If the blind is to be mounted outside the window recess, it will be made to your exact measurements with no deductions.

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To block sunlight effectively, we recommend overlapping by 6 cm on each side and 7 cm at the top.
  • Take care around obstacles such as tiles or rails.
  • Overlap at the bottom is optional, depending on your preference.

Please choose your preferred mounting type:

  • Top Mount: Mounts to an overhead surface such as the top of the window recess or ceiling.
  • Face Mount: Mounts to the face of the window frame outside the recess.

Fitting Instructions

  1. Position the brackets so the blind can operate freely without touching door handles or the window frame.
  2. Loosely attach both brackets to the blind and hold it in position in the window to help centre it.
  3. Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Ensure it is level and not twisted to prevent incorrect operation. Drill holes and fix the bracket using raw plugs if required.
  4. Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Place the other bracket at the opposite end, mark its position, ensure it is level, drill, and fix in place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin end of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The spring mechanism allows easy mounting and removal.
  • Fit the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and hook into the bracket securely.

Operating the Blind

  • Once installed, use the chain at the side to raise and lower the blind.

P-Clip Installation

  • Install the P-clip as far from the control mechanism as possible to keep the chain tight.
  • Make sure the control chain sits inside the P-clip. The chain should remain tight, and the P-clip should be at the bottom of the loop.
  • Screw the tensioning device to the wall, running it end-to-end with the blind, to maintain constant chain tension.
