Inside Window Recess Fit

To fit a blind inside a window recess, you need to measure the full width and height of the recessed area, from wall to wall.

How to Measure Inside the Recess

• Measure across the window recess in three places: top, middle, and bottom.
• Measure down the recess at three points: left, right, and centre.
• Use a steel tape measure and record measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
• Use the smallest measurements when placing your order.
• The factory will make any necessary adjustments for recess-specified blinds to ensure a perfect fit.
• Take care to measure around any obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accuracy.

Outside Window Recess Fit

For blinds fitted outside the window recess, the blind will be made exactly to the measurements you provide, with no deductions.

How to Measure for Outside Recess Fit

• Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To block sunlight, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top of the window.
• Take care to measure around any obstacles such as tiles or rails.
• Overlap at the bottom of the window is optional.

You can choose between two mounting options: top mount or face mount.

• Top Mount: Attach the blind to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or ceiling.
• Face Mount: Attach the blind to the front surface of the window frame.

Position the brackets so that the blind can move freely without touching handles or window frames. Loosely attach both brackets to the blind and hold it in place to help centre it properly.

• Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the control mechanism. Mark the position carefully, ensuring the bracket is level. Drill holes and fix the bracket using raw plugs if attaching to a wall.
• Insert one side of the blind into the mounted bracket. Then, position the second bracket on the other side, mark its position, ensure it is level with the first, drill holes, and fix it into place.

Mounting the Blind

• Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The pin end has a spring mechanism to make mounting and removal easier.
• Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug should point downwards and lock into the bracket cross-section.

Operating the Blind

• Once installed, use the side chain to raise or lower the blind.

P-Clip

• Install the p-clip as far as possible from the control mechanism to prevent slack in the loop chain.
• Ensure the control chain sits inside the p-clip. The chain should remain tight, with the p-clip at the bottom of the loop, allowing smooth movement. Screw the tensioning device into place along the wall to maintain constant chain tension.
