Tools needed to measure your blinds:
Tips for accurate measurement:
Outside Recess
Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light leakage, allow at least 70mm overlap at the top and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap is up to you, but consider obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes may stretch or bend and give inaccurate results.
Inside Recess
For a blind that fits inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. Take three measurements for both width and drop, then use the smallest figures. Do not make your own deductions, as these will be made for you to ensure a perfect fit. A metal tape measure is recommended for accuracy.
Ensure the following items are included with your blind:
Face Fix
Place the brackets about 5cm from the ends where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are provided, space the extra ones evenly along the blindβs length. Ensure fixings are suitable for your wall or surface. Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and tighten the small front screw to secure it.
Top Fix
Measure and mark carefully to leave space for window handles or other protrusions. Position the brackets approximately 10cm from the ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets evenly along the length. Ensure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface. Tilt and hook the headrail into the brackets, rotate it until it clicks, and to remove, press the bracket to release the rail.
