Tools you will need:

  • Steel measuring tape
  • Pencil to mark and note your measurements
  • Worksheet to record your numbers
  • Ladder for tall windows

Tips for accurate measurements:

  • Do not confuse height and width when writing your measurements. Mixing them up could lead to a blind that does not fit properly.
  • If you are measuring more than one window, measure each separately. Windows may not be exactly the same, and even small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurements:

  • Measure the exact area where you want the blind to cover. To reduce light coming through, we suggest the blind overlaps the window by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
  • Bottom overlap is up to you, but consider any obstacles such as radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and give incorrect measurements.

Inside Recess Measurements:

  • If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess. We will make the adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure three points for both width and height, and use the smallest measurements.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; we will take care of this.
  • Use a metal tape measure for accurate results.

Items included with your blind:

  • Top fix brackets x2
  • Face fix brackets x2
  • Hangers x1
  • Allen key x1
  • Stabilising chains x2
  • Safety hook x1
  • Wood screws x4
  • Weight x1

Extra tools you will need:

  • Pencil
  • Screws
  • Drill with correct bits
  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation:

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from each end of the headrail. If there are more than two brackets, space the additional brackets evenly along the length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for your wall or surface.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark positions, allowing for obstacles such as window handles. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end to avoid interference with the handle. If there are extra brackets, space them evenly along the blind. Ensure your fixings are suitable for the surface.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove, press the bracket at the marked point.
