Inside Recess Fit (Roller Blind)

If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess:

  • Measure the full width and height of the recessed space from wall to wall.
  • Take three width measurements (top, middle, and bottom of the window).
  • Take three height measurements (left, centre, and right).
  • Use a steel measuring tape to ensure accuracy, recording sizes in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  • Always use the smallest measurement when placing your order.
  • The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess blinds to ensure a correct fit.
  • Be careful of obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails when measuring to make sure your blind will fit properly.

Outside Recess Fit (Roller Blind)

If you want the blind to sit outside the window recess:

  • Measure the full area you want the blind to cover.
  • To block sunlight effectively, we recommend an overlap of around 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top.
  • An overlap at the bottom of the window is optional and depends on your preference.
  • Take care to avoid obstructions such as tiles or rails when measuring.
  • We will make the blind to your exact measurements with no deductions applied.

Please choose one of the following mounting styles:

  • Top mount: Brackets fixed to the ceiling or the top inside of the window recess.
  • Face mount: Brackets fixed to the front of the window frame, outside the recess.

When fitting, make sure the brackets are positioned to allow smooth operation, with no contact against handles, doors, or windows. Place the brackets loosely on the blind and hold it in the chosen position to check before fixing.

  • Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain control mechanism. Mark its position carefully, ensuring it is level and not twisted. Drill holes and secure the bracket firmly, using raw plugs if fixing into a wall.
  • Insert one end of the blind into the mounted bracket. Position the other bracket at the opposite end, mark its location, and check it is level with the first. Drill holes and secure this bracket as well, again using raw plugs if needed.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin bracket. The spring-loaded pin makes it easier to mount and remove the blind.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control side bracket. The central lug on the mechanism should face downward and slot into the cross-section of the bracket, locking securely into place.

Operating the Blind

Once the blind has been fitted, use either the remote control or the chain mechanism to raise and lower it smoothly.

P-Clip Safety Device

  • Fit the P-clip at the furthest possible distance from the control mechanism to prevent the chain loop from becoming loose.
  • Make sure the chain runs through the P-clip and remains tight, with the clip positioned at the lowest point of the loop.
  • Screw the safety device securely to the wall along the length of the blind so that the chain remains under constant tension and operates safely.
