Inside Recess Measurement

To fit a blind inside your window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess from wall to wall.

  1. Take three width measurements across the window recess – top, middle, and bottom.
  2. Take three height measurements – left, right, and centre.
  3. Use a steel tape measure to get precise measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre.
  4. Use the smallest measurements for your order to ensure a perfect fit.
  5. The factory will make any necessary deductions for recess-specified blinds to guarantee they fit correctly.
  6. Be careful when measuring, taking into account obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure accurate positioning.

Outside Recess Measurement

To fit a blind outside the window recess, provide your exact measurements. No deductions will be made.

  • Measure the area you want the blind to cover. For maximum sunlight blockage, we recommend an overlap of 6 cm on each side and 7 cm at the top.
  • Be cautious of obstacles like tiles and rails when measuring.
  • Overlap at the bottom of the window is optional.

Choose your preferred fitting style:

Top Mount – mount the blind to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or ceiling.

Face Mount – mount the blind to the outside face of the window frame.

Steps to Fit:

  1. Position the brackets to allow the blind to operate freely, avoiding interference from handles or windows.
  2. Loosely attach both brackets to the blind and place it in the desired position to help centre the blind accurately.
  3. Place the control-side bracket on the same side as the chain control mechanism. Ensure it is level and not twisted. Drill and secure the bracket with raw plugs if attaching to a wall.
  4. Insert one side of the blind into its bracket. Position the second bracket at the opposite end, ensuring it is level, then drill and fix it in place.

Mounting the Blind

  • Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The pin end uses a spring mechanism for easy mounting and removal.
  • Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug on the control mechanism should point downwards and hook securely into the bracket.

Operating the Blind

  • Once fitted, use the chain on the side to raise or lower the blind.

P-Clip Installation

  • Install the P-clip as far from the control mechanism as possible to keep the looper chain tight.
  • Ensure the control chain passes through the P-clip, which should sit at the bottom of the loop.
  • Screw the tensioning device to the wall so the chain stays tight and under constant tension, allowing smooth operation.
