Tips for Accurate Measurement:
To fit a blind inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess (the opening). Take three measurements across the width at the top, middle, and bottom, and three measurements for the height on the left, right, and centre. Always use the smallest measurement for ordering.
Use a steel tape measure to obtain accurate measurements in centimetres to the nearest millimetre. The factory will make any necessary deductions for blinds specified to fit recesses, ensuring a perfect fit. Take care when measuring around obstacles such as tiles, handles, or rails to ensure the blind will fit correctly.
For blinds that fit outside the window recess, we will make them to the exact measurements you provide, with no deductions.
Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce sunlight entering the room, we recommend an overlap of 6cm on each side and 7cm at the top. The overlap at the bottom is optional, but consider any obstacles such as radiators. Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth tapes can stretch and provide inaccurate results.
You can choose either:
Top Mount β brackets fixed to an overhead surface, such as the top of the window recess or the ceiling.
Face Mount β brackets fixed to the face of the window frame.
Position the brackets so that the blind can operate freely, without coming into contact with handles or window frames. Loosely position both brackets on the blind and place it in the window to check alignment. This will help you centre the blind accurately.
Place the control side bracket on the same side as the chain mechanism. Mark the position of the first bracket, making sure it is level and not twisted, as this may prevent the blind from operating correctly. Drill the holes and fix the bracket using rawl plugs if attaching to a wall.
Insert one side of the blind into the mounted bracket, then place the other bracket at the opposite end. Mark its position and ensure it is level with the first bracket. Drill and fix the second bracket using rawl plugs if needed.
Insert the pin side of the blind into the pin-side bracket. The pin end has a spring mechanism to make mounting and unmounting easier. Insert the control mechanism into the control-side bracket. The central lug on the control mechanism should point downwards and slot into the bracket securely.
Once fitted, use the side chain to raise and lower the blind.
P-Clip:
Install the P-clip as far as possible from the control mechanism to keep the looper chain taut. Ensure the chain runs inside the P-clip, remains tight, and can move freely. Screw the tensioning device to the wall, keeping the chain under constant tension. This will keep the chain secure and properly aligned at all times.
