Tools Needed:

  • A steel measuring tape
  • Pencil for marking and noting measurements
  • Worksheet to record your measurements
  • Ladder for tall windows, if needed

Tips for Accurate Measurements:

  • Keep height and width separate when recording measurements. Mixing them up can result in blinds that do not fit.
  • If measuring more than one window, do not assume they are identical. Measure each individually, as small differences can affect the fit.

Outside Recess Measurement:

  • Measure the exact area where the blind will hang. To reduce light gaps, it is recommended that the blind extends at least 70mm above the recess and 50mm on each side.
  • Bottom overlap is optional, but consider any obstacles like radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure, as cloth ones can stretch and give inaccurate readings.

Inside Recess Measurement:

  • Measure the full width and height of the window recess. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Measure in three places for both width and height, using the smallest measurement for accuracy.
  • Do not make any deductions yourself; we will handle this for a precise fit.
  • Again, use a metal tape measure for accuracy.

  • Hook the headrail into the brackets, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the short screw on the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation:

  • Measure and mark areas to avoid obstructions, such as window handles. Position brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail. Fit any extra brackets evenly along the blind. Make sure the fixings are appropriate for your wall or ceiling.
  • Hook and tilt the headrail into the brackets until it clicks into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket at the hook point.
