Tips for Accurate Measuring:
Measure the exact area you want the blind to cover. To minimise light gaps, it is recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The overlap at the bottom depends on your preference but do remember to allow space for obstacles such as radiators or window sills.
Always use a metal tape measure, as fabric ones can bend or stretch and lead to incorrect measurements.
If you want your blind to sit within the recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. Adjustments will be made to ensure a correct fit.
Take measurements in three places for both the width and the drop, and record the smallest results.
Do not make any deductions yourself, as this will be done to ensure the blind is cut to the proper size. Again, always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
When you receive your blind, check that you have the following items included:
You will also need:
Place the brackets roughly 5cm from each end of where the headrail will be positioned. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extra ones evenly across the length of the blind. Always ensure the fixings are suitable for the surface you are attaching them to.
To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and then tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to secure it.
Mark the position carefully, making sure to allow for handles or other features that project into the recess. Place the brackets approximately 10cm from each end of the headrail so the blind clears the window handle. If more than two brackets are provided, space the extras evenly across the length of the blind. Ensure your fixings are correct for the surface you are mounting to.
To fit, tilt the headrail into the bracket and rotate until it clicks securely into place. To remove the headrail, simply press the release point on the bracket and lift it free.
