Outside Recess
Measure the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light gaps, allow at least 70mm overlap at the top and 50mm on each side. The bottom overlap can be decided according to personal preference, but remember obstacles like radiators. Use a metal tape measure for accurate results, as cloth tapes can stretch or bend.
Inside Recess
For blinds that fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the opening. Take three measurements for both width and drop, and use the smallest figures. Do not make any deductions yourself; these will be made to ensure a perfect fit. Use a metal tape measure for precision.
Ensure you have the following included with your blind:
Face Fix
Position the brackets about 5cm from the ends where the headrail will sit. If more than two brackets are supplied, place the extra ones evenly along the blind’s length. Ensure fixings are suitable for your wall or surface. Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and tighten the small screw at the front to secure it.
Top Fix
Measure carefully and mark space for handles or other protrusions. Place the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly along the length. Ensure fixings are suitable for the wall or surface. Tilt the headrail into the bracket, rotate until it clicks, and to remove, press the bracket to release it.
