When ordering replacement slats, the “slat only” size refers to the fabric length when laid flat. The usual width of a slat is 89mm, which is the most common size available and used for most fabrics.

Be sure that the fabric you choose is the right width for your headrail. Measure to the nearest centimetre, and when giving height and width, deduct 1cm. Do not make any extra deductions yourself.

If no slats are currently available, follow these steps:

• Measure the exact size needed for your window.
• Take the measurement from the headrail opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
• The bottom of the slat should end around 13mm above any obstacles such as a window sill or radiator.

Counting and Ordering the Right Amount

• Count the number of slats already in your blind or check the number of carriers (trucks) in your headrail.
• Enter the total number of slats needed when placing your order.

Your vertical blind package should include the following parts:

• 2 x top fix brackets
• 2 x face fix brackets
• 1 x set of hangers
• 1 x Allan key
• 2 x stabilising chains
• 1 x safety hook
• 4 x wood screws
• 1 x weight
• Pencil
• Additional screws
• Drill with suitable drill bits
• Cross-head screwdriver
• Metal tape measure

Face Fix

• Position the brackets about 5cm in from each end of where the headrail will sit.
• If more than two brackets are provided, space the extras evenly along the blind’s length.
• Make sure the fixings you use are suitable for the type of wall or surface you are attaching the brackets to.
• To fit, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the small screw on the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

• First, measure and mark the area, making sure you allow space for any obstacles such as handles that may extend into the recess.
• Fit the brackets about 10cm in from each end of where the headrail will be placed. This will make sure the blind clears the window handle.
• If you have more than two brackets, fit the extras evenly across the headrail length.
• Always check that the fixings are right for the surface you are attaching to.
• Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it into position until it clicks. To remove, simply press the bracket to release the headrail.
