Tools needed to measure vertical blinds:
Helpful tips for accurate measuring:
Outside recess:
Measure the total size of the area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light coming through the sides, allow the blind to overlap the recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm on each side.
The amount it hangs below is up to you, but remember to check for obstacles such as radiators.
Inside recess:
If you want the blind to sit inside the window recess, measure the full width and height of the recess (the size of the opening). Take measurements in three places for both width and drop, and use the smallest numbers.
Do not adjust the sizes yourself, as we will make the correct deductions so the blind fits properly. Again, always use a steel tape for accuracy.
Please make sure you have the following items supplied with your vertical blind:
Additional tools you will need:
Face fix fitting:
Place the brackets about 5cm in from each end of the headrail position. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly across the width. Make sure the wall or surface is strong enough to take the fixings.
To attach, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate into position, then secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.
Top fix fitting:
First, measure and mark the space carefully, allowing for any obstructions like window handles. Position the brackets about 10cm from the ends of the headrail to make sure it clears the handle. If more than two brackets are supplied, space them evenly. Always use the correct fixings for the surface you are mounting onto.
To attach, tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket, then rotate it until it clicks into place. To remove, push the bracket release point.
