Tools You Will Need to Measure Vertical Blinds:
Helpful Tips for Accurate Measuring:
Measure the exact area where you want the blind to overlap. To reduce light gaps, it is advised that the blind extends at least 70mm above the top of the recess and at least 50mm at each side.
The overlap at the bottom is your choice, but you should consider any obstacles such as radiators. Always use a steel measuring tape, as cloth tapes may stretch or bend, leading to incorrect results.
If you want the blind to fit inside the window recess, measure the full width and drop of the recess (the opening space). We will make the necessary deductions so the blind fits neatly.
Take three measurements for both width and drop, then use the smallest measurement. Do not make any deductions yourself, as we will handle that. Again, use a metal tape rather than a cloth one to avoid errors.
Please make sure you have the following items that come with your vertical blind:
Place the brackets about 5cm from each end of where the headrail will sit. If you have more than two brackets, space them evenly along the headrail. Ensure the fixings are right for the wall or surface you are attaching to.
To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into position, and secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.
Mark the fitting positions carefully, leaving space for anything like handles that stick out into the recess. Place the brackets around 10cm from each end of where the headrail will go, as this will keep the blind clear of window handles. If more than two brackets are supplied, fit them evenly across the headrail length. Make sure the fixings are suitable for the surface.
To install, tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket. Rotate until you hear it click into place. To remove the headrail, press the bracket release point.
