Golden Glow: Santorini Ochre Roman Blind – Bring Warm Sunshine Indoors

Fill your home with brightness and charm with the Santorini Ochre Roman Blind, available only from Blinds Artist. Inspired by Mediterranean sunlight and soft golden tones, this blind features a rich ochre shade that adds warmth, energy, and personality to any space.

The ochre colour is bold yet adaptable. It works beautifully to liven up neutral interiors or to sit alongside deep blues, warm wood finishes, and natural fabrics. Whether used in the living room, kitchen, or home office, this blind creates a welcoming look while adding a touch of style.

Made with premium fabric and careful attention to detail, the Santorini Ochre Roman Blind offers more than an attractive design. The Roman fold style forms neat pleats when pulled up and a smooth drape when lowered. Its simple operating system allows you to adjust both light and privacy with ease throughout the day.

Tools You Will Need to Measure Vertical Blinds

  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil for marking and noting measurements
  • A worksheet for recording details
  • A ladder, if your windows are tall

Helpful Tips for Accurate Measuring

  • Do not mix up width and height when recording your results. Confusing the two may lead to blinds that do not fit correctly.
  • When measuring more than one window, do not assume they are identical. Measure each one separately, as even small differences can affect how well the blinds sit.

Measuring Outside the Recess

  • Measure the full area you want the blind to cover. To reduce light coming in, it is best if the blind overlaps the recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm at each side.
  • The overlap at the bottom depends on your preference, but remember to consider obstacles such as radiators.
  • Always use a metal tape measure. Fabric ones may stretch or bend, which can cause inaccurate results.

Measuring Inside the Recess

  • Take this measurement if you want the blind to fit neatly within the window recess. Measure the complete width and height of the recess (the size of the opening), and adjustments will be made for you so that it fits properly.
  • Measure in three places for both width and drop, and record the smallest figure.
  • Do not make deductions yourself, as this will be handled to ensure a precise fit.
  • Use a metal tape measure to avoid mistakes caused by fabric tapes.

Before fitting your vertical blind, make sure all necessary parts are included.

Extra Equipment You Will Need:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 hanger
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • A drill with the correct drill bits
  • A crosshead screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix

  • Position the brackets around 5cm from each end of where the headrail will sit. If you have more than two brackets, space the extras evenly across the blind. Always check that the fixings are appropriate for the wall or surface.
  • To attach, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and tighten the small screw at the front of the bracket to secure it.

Top Fix

  • Mark the positions carefully, making sure there is enough clearance for any window handles or obstructions inside the recess. Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail, ensuring they avoid the window handle. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly along the blind. Always confirm the fixings suit the wall or surface.
  • Tilt the headrail into the bracket, then rotate until it clicks securely. To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
