Hambrook Black – Replacement Slats

Hambrook Black – Replacement Slats

Black is always seen as stylish and modern, but at times it can feel a bit too strong. This vertical blind offers a softer look, giving you the style of black while making the room feel less intense.

When you measure for slats only, the size will include the length of the vertical blind fabric as it lies flat. The standard slat width is usually 89mm, which is the most common size and the one used for most fabrics.

When ordering, always make sure the chosen fabric has the correct width. (Measure to the nearest centimetre for height and width. Do not deduct anything yourself.)

If slats are not available, follow the guide below:

  • Measure the exact size needed for your window.
  • Measure from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  • The slat should end about 13mm above any obstruction, such as a window sill or radiator.

Counting and Ordering Slats

  • Count either the number of existing slats or the number of carriers on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number required when placing your order.

Before you begin, check that you have the following parts included with your vertical blind:

Additional equipment you will need for installation:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • A drill with the correct drill bits
  • A crosshead screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix

  • Position the brackets about 5cm from each end where the headrail will be fitted. If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly along the blind.
  • Make sure the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are attaching to.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, and secure it by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix

  • Measure and mark carefully, making sure to allow space for any obstructions such as window handles that extend into the recess.
  • Fit the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail to give enough clearance for the handle. If more than two brackets are included, place the extras evenly across the length of the blind.
  • Ensure the fixings are suitable for the ceiling or surface you are attaching to.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket at the marked spot, then rotate it until you hear a click. To release the headrail, press the bracket at that point.
