A slat measurement includes only the length of the vertical blind fabric when laid flat. The width of the slat is usually 89mm, which is the most widely used size and the one available for most fabrics.

When placing your order, check carefully that your chosen fabric matches the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre and then subtract 1cm from the height and width. Do not make any further deductions.

If You Do Not Have Existing Slats

  • Measure the window space where the blind is required.
  • Measure from the track opening down to the point where you would like the slat to end.
  • The slat should stop around 13mm above any obstruction, such as a windowsill or radiator.

Counting and Ordering Slats

  • Count the slats already fitted or the number of carriers on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number of slats needed when placing your order.

Before fitting, check that you have all the necessary parts supplied with your vertical blind.

Top Fix Method

  • Measure and mark carefully, allowing for any parts such as handles that extend into the recess.
  • Fit the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail so that the blind clears the window handle.
  • If more than two brackets are supplied, space the extras evenly along the headrail.
  • Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface you are using.
  • Tilt the headrail, hook it into the bracket, and rotate it until it clicks securely into place.
