When measuring slats only, the length refers to the vertical blind fabric laid flat. The width of each slat is normally 89mm, which is the standard size used for most fabrics we offer.

Before placing your order, always check that the fabric you select is the correct width. Measure to the nearest centimetre and then deduct 1cm from both the height and the width. Do not make any other deductions.

No Slats Yet? Follow These Steps:

  • Measure the area of the window where the blind is needed.
  • Take the measurement from the track opening down to the point where you want the slat to finish.
  • The slat should stop about 13mm above any surface such as a windowsill or radiator.

Count and Order the Correct Number of Slats

  • Count your current slats or the number of carriers on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number required when placing your order.

Make sure you have the following parts included with your vertical blind:

Items Needed for Installation

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Screws
  • A drill with suitable bits
  • A crosshead screwdriver
  • A metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation

  • Position the brackets around 5cm from each end of where the headrail will be placed.
  • If more than two brackets are supplied, fit the extras evenly across the blind’s length.
  • Check that the fixings used are suitable for the surface or wall where the brackets are being attached.
  • Hook the back of the headrail into the bracket, rotate it into place, then secure it by tightening the short screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

  • Measure and mark carefully, allowing space for anything that projects into the recess, such as window handles.
  • Place the brackets about 10cm from each end of where the headrail will be positioned to avoid any obstructions.
  • If more than two brackets are included, fix the additional ones evenly across the full length of the headrail.
  • Ensure that the fixings are suitable for the wall or surface where the brackets are mounted.
  • Tilt and hook the headrail into the bracket. Rotate until it clicks firmly into place.
  • To remove the headrail, press the release point on the bracket.
