When ordering slats only, the length is measured from the fabric laid flat. The width of each slat is generally 89mm, which is the most popular size and the standard option for most fabrics.

When you place your order, check that the fabric chosen is the correct width. Take your measurement to the nearest centimetre, then reduce the height and width by 1cm. Do not make any further deductions.

If Slats Are Not Available – Follow These Steps:

  1. Measure the size you need at your window.
  2. Take the measurement from the headrail opening down to where you want the slat to finish.
  3. Ensure the slat ends around 13mm above any obstacle, such as a sill or radiator.

Counting and Ordering Slats

  • Count either your current slats or the number of carriers on your headrail.
  • Enter the total number required when placing your order.

Make sure you have the following items included with your vertical blind:

Additional tools and equipment you will need for fitting:

  • 2 top fix brackets
  • 2 face fix brackets
  • 1 set of hangers
  • 1 Allen key
  • 2 stabilising chains
  • 1 safety hook
  • 4 wood screws
  • 1 weight
  • A pencil
  • Extra screws
  • Drill with suitable drill bits
  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Metal tape measure

Face Fix Installation

Fit the brackets about 5cm from each end of the position where the headrail will sit. If you have more than two brackets, place the extra ones evenly across the full length. Always make sure your fixings are appropriate for the surface or wall you are attaching to.

To install, hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate it into place. Then secure the headrail by tightening the small screw at the front of the bracket.

Top Fix Installation

First, measure and mark the position, allowing for handles or any objects that may stick into the recess. Fix the brackets about 10cm from each end of the headrail position, which ensures clearance from the window handle. If you have more than two brackets, space the extras evenly along the headrail. Again, check that your fixings are suitable for the mounting surface.

To fit, tilt the headrail and hook it into the bracket at the marked point. Rotate until it clicks into place. To release, simply push the bracket at the same point.
